PESHAWAR: The students of pre-medical group got top three positions in the intermediate examination results announced by the Peshawar Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education here on Monday.

Tazmeen Malik, a student of Jinnah College for Women, University of Peshawar, got first position with 1,003 marks. Sajid Ali Khan of Institute of Computer and Management Sciences secured 1,001 marks and bagged the second position. Maimoona Khan, a student of Jinnah College for Women, UoP, got third position by obtaining 1,000 marks.

The pre-engineering group was topped by Alina Dawood of Jinnah College for Women with 990 marks, while Laiba Baig of the same college stood second with 989 marks. Aziz Ahmed of the Islamia College Peshawar got third position in the pre-engineering group with 978 marks.

The female student of the public sector colleges achieved top three positions in the humanities group. The first position was shared by Zinshah Waqar and Laiba, students of Jinnah College for Women and Government Frontier College for Women Peshawar, respectively. Both the students got 932 marks each.

Aisha Kiran, a student of Government Girls Degree College, Bacha Khan, Kohat Road, got second position with 922 marks, while the third position was achieved by Faiza, student of Government Frontier College for Women Peshawar, with 920 marks.

The result was announced at a ceremony held on the premises of the board. Adviser to the chief minister on elementary and secondary education, Ziaullah Bangash was the chief guest.

The education adviser said that reforms in the education boards would be technology-based aimed to make the examinations more transparent and fair.
