Hasil Bizenjo's remarks implicating ISI chief 'unfounded', says DG ISPR

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor on Friday denounced claims made by Senator Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo who said Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt Gen Faiz Hameed's "people" were behind the opposition's failure in the Senate's no confidence vote against Sadiq Sanjrani.
In a tweet posted on Maj Gen Ghafoor's official Twitter account early today, the ISPR chief said that Bizenjo's remarks were "unfounded" and did not "serve democracy".
"Remarks by Senator Mir Hasil Bizenjo implicating head of national premier institution are unfounded. The tendency to bring entire democratic process into disrepute for petty political gains doesn’t serve democracy," Maj-Gen Ghafoor said.
The joint opposition had last month submitted a no-confidence resolution against Senate Chairman Sanjrani and had named Bizenjo as its candidate for the position.
The resolution was tabled yesterday by Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Raja Zafarul Haq and was comfortably passed by opposition senators, with 64 voting in its favour. But the opposition suffered a shock defeat when it fell three votes short to dismiss the Senate chairman. Needing only 53 of the 64 senators' votes to send Sanjrani packing, the opposition fell three short when the result of the secret ballot was announced.
After the vote, as Bizenjo was walking out of the Senate building, a journalist asked if the senator knew the 14 turncoats who had voted against their party's stated stance.
Bizenjo responded: "These are Gen Faiz's people. You know Gen Faiz, the ISI chief, [they] were his people."

It is the 14 senators who ditched the opposition, so what does it have to do with the army? Making such statements without evidence and maligning an institution is highly irresponsible. Mir Hasil Khan is long time in politics, in the first election of Senate when Mr Sanjarni elected Hasil blow up on all senate members and he is support of PMLN members and he is beneficiaries of many benefit during previous Govt, now he himself is candidate, he lost and have to to be honorably accept his defeated instead involving Armed forces of Pakistan. Mr Hasil what is your services to Baluchistan ? can you give one example of your service ? why senators will give you vote ?

While on the subject, please also comment if democracy is served by 5 votes being declared void when 3 of those can sway the result. Furthermore, when elected or nominated by a party, the senator/member is bound to vote on party lines in such elections, that is parliamentary practice else everything will result in horse-trading. They are not free to do as they please, once having gotten a seat. That seat is only there because they signed up to a certain party's agenda, which is basis for public to cast vote. So no, democracy was not served by such a strange outcome where in all scenarios, opposition won but in final tally did not.

I would say that let's constitute a high level commission headed by Chief Justice of Supreme Court and investigate the allegation on Lt. Gen Faiz. Political engineering should not be promoted. there is strong perception that army has major role in make and break of political parties and civil government. The retired army officers, history of Pakistan and all the political parties on different occasions and times (including present ruling party of Imran Khan) have openly blamed ISI. Media and courts have also strengthen this perception. Unfortunately army has ruled directly for more then 30 years and indirect rule is a question mark
