TAXILA: The Attock police have chalked out a comprehensive security plan for Eidul Azha under which 2,326 security personnel will be deployed at mosques, Imambarg has and important buildings.

District Police Officer Shahzad Nadeem Boukhari while talking to newsmen on Wednesday said the security personnel include 1,158 volunteers, six DSPs, 15 SHOs, 200 SIs and ASIs, 945 constables and 35 sections of elite force.

Besides worship places, security personnel would man important buildings.

He said during Eid prayers police would guard 377 worship places including 329 mosques, 20 Imambargahs and 20 open places.

He said all types of leaves of police officers had been canceled for Eidul Azha.

Responding to a question, the DPO said the security plan had been chalked out in collaboration with the district administration and other law enforcement agencies.

He said all police officials had been directed to remain on high alert to avert any untoward incident during Eid days.

Mr Boukhari said no person would be allowed to enter mosques or Imambargahs without proper body search.

Walkthrough gates would be installed in open places besides establishing car parking away from congregation.

“Police in-charges of all circles would ensure proper security arrangements at Eid congregations,” he said.

The DPO said special directives had also been issued to all officers concerned for effective security measures.

He said no person or organisation could collect animal hides without prior permission from the district administration.
