KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday announced organising the first edition of the Independence Day Cup T20 Colour-kit Cricket Tournament at the UBL Sports Complex from Aug 18.

According to chief organiser Muhammad Ibrahim, two teams from SHC — Blues and Greens — Pakistan Lawyers Cricket Association, Karachi Bar Cricket Lawyers Club, Thunder Wolves and Arya Sports have confirmed their participation in the tournament, which will be held on a single league basis.

The tournament organising committee also includes Muhammad Nusrat Ali, Fahim Fazal and Muhammad Asif.

Ibrahim said two matches will be played every Sunday with the final round of league matches taking place on Oct 6. The top two teams will then qualify for the final scheduled for Oct 13.

The SHC Greens take on Karachi Bar Cricket Lawyers Club, while Pakistan Lawyers Cricket Association meet Thunder Wolves on the opening day of the competition.

Aug 18: SHC Greens vs Karachi Bar CLC (9:00am); Pakistan Lawyers CA vs Thunder Wolves (1:30pm).

Aug 25: Thunder Wolves vs Arya Sports (9:00am); SHC Blues vs Pakistan Lawyers CA (1:30pm).

Sept 1: SHC Blues vs Karachi Bar CLC (9:00am); SHC Greens vs Arya Sports (1:30pm).

Sept 8: SHC Blues vs Thunder Wolves (9:00am); Pakistan Lawyers CA vs Karachi Bar CLC (1:30pm).

Sept 15: SHC Greens vs Thunder Wolves (9:00am); SHC Blues vs Arya Sports (1:30pm).

Sept 22: SHC Greens vs Pakistan Lawyers CA (9:00am); Karachi Bar CLC vs Arya Sports (1:30pm).

Sept 29: SHC Blues vs SHC Greens (9:00am); Arya Sports Pakistan Lawyers CA (1:30pm).

Oct 6: Arya Sports vs Pakistan Layers CA (9:00am); Thunder Wolves vs Karachi Bar CLC (1:30pm).

Oct 13: Final.
