MURREE: Raging rainwater swept away five parked vehicles into a nullah as the hill station received heavy rainfall during the last two days, sources told Dawn on Wednesday.

The cars were, however, recovered but three of them were badly damaged while two partially.

Three buffaloes also fell into a nullah near Surba village near New Murree.

The buffaloes were drinking water when a heavy flow of water swept them away into the nullah.

Local villagers could save only one buffalo but it was in a serious condition.

In many other areas agricultural land and roads were also damaged due to rain.

The town administration was estimating damages, said Sami Niazi an official of Town Municipal Administration (TMA).

He, however, suspected heavy losses in remote areas of the Town.
