LAHORE: Punjab Assembly opposition leader Hamza Shahbaz has written to Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi to issue his production order for the session scheduled to begin on Aug 21.

In the letter, Hamza Shahbaz, who has been in the National Accountability Bureau’s custody for the last two months in income beyond means and money laundering investigation, requested the speaker to issue his production order under rule 79-A of the rules of procedures of the Punjab Assembly.

He said the NAB had arrested him on June 11 under some “false allegations.”

Meanwhile, the PML-N has written a letter to the Lahore deputy commissioner, asking him whether permission was granted to the PTI’s Punjab government to hold a rally on The Mall on Aug 15 in violation of the Lahore High Court’s order.

It asked him to provide a copy of the permission letter, if granted, to the Buzdar administration.

Earlier, the Punjab government had booked hundreds of PML-N workers, including its president Shahbaz Sharif, for holding a rally on The Mall.
