LAHORE: The PML-N and PPP have termed one-year rule of the PTI government a tale of failure on every front.

“Today is the completion of one-year rule of the PTI government. On this day Imran Khan was selected as prime minister last year and Gen Zia was killed in 1988. The ‘planted’ regime of Imran is not less than a curse,” PPP’s parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly Hasan Murtaza said here on Saturday.

He said in the last one year Imran followed the philosophy of Ziaul Haq and indulged in political victimisation, media curbs, rendered thousands of people jobless, destroyed economy and allowed India to scrap special status of held Kashmir.

PML-N’s information secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb said the Imran’s government had failed miserably in every domain of governance and policy in its first year of rule.

“Imran has succeeded in only one thing which is turning every national success to failure. Over 4.5m people have been pushed below the poverty line while 1.5m have been rendered jobless because of the faulty policies of the PTI government. Despite borrowing record loans, not a single brick of development work has been laid by the incompetent regime of the PM,” she said.

PML-N’s Azma Bokhari said: “In the first year of its rule the PTI government has rendered a large number of people jobless and made the lives of the masses miserable.”
