ISLAMABAD: The capital administration has invited beggars and transgender persons to join the campaign to promote cloth and paper bags in the city, sources told Dawn.

Both segments of the society have been asked to sell paper and cloth bags at a point of their choice and become part of the campaign.

The administration assured them that they would be provided all possible assistance in setting up sale points preferably at Markaz, shopping centres and malls.

In this regard activists and elders of transgender persons have approached the capital administration, the sources said, adding that the same offer has been given to beggars.

Talking to Dawn, Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat confirmed that the beggars and transgender persons were asked to set up stalls to sell cloth and paper bags.
