SWABI: Two members of a family were killed and one was injured when the boundary wall of their house collapsed here on Monday, district administration officials and police said.

The incident occurred in Panjpir village, when heavy rain which started at 7am and continued till 12pm, caused boundary wall of the hose to collapse.

The house shared boundary with government middle school, Gar Panjpir. Soon after the incident, announcements were made on loudspeakers, asking people to reach the spot for rescue work. The wall collapse also caused a room to cave in.

The dead included Mohammad Islam’s wife and daughter, while his granddaughter was injured in the incident. She was taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor.

Meanwhile, a man allegedly strangulated his wife in Maneri Bala village.

Registering FIR in Swabi city police station, brother of the deceased woman told police that his brother-in-law called him on phone, telling him that he had killed his sister. He said he rushed to his in-law’s house in Maneri Bala and found her sister dead.

The police said the woman seemed to be strangulated. The accused escaped after the incident.
