KARACHI: Boosted by penetrative seam bowling from Adnan Saghir, SHC Greens sealed their second successive win in the Sindh High Court Independence Day Cup Colour-kit T20 Cricket Tournament here on Sunday when they defeated Arya Sports by six wickets.

Arya Sports’ second straight loss was not helped by a poor batting effort as they crumbled to 113-8 at the TMC Ground after the game started 15 minutes late. Skipper Malik Mohammad Yousuf was the top scorer with a 27-ball knock of 27.

Adnan impressed with figures of three wickets for 20 runs in four overs with skipper Ali Naqi taking 2-20 in four overs with his off-spinners.

SHC Greens romped to victory in the 16th over by collecting 114-4. Ali scored a breezy 25 off just 12 deliveries with opener Farhan Khan making 38 off 31 balls and Vinod Ramesh a 33-ball 22.

Off-spinner Adil Rehman claimed 2-29 in four overs.

Meanwhile, the day’s scheduled second match between SHC Blues and Karachi Bar CLC was abandoned as heavy rains flooded the ground.

According to the organisers, this fixture will be replayed at a later date.
