SARGODHA: Hundreds of lady health workers (LHWs) staged a protest rally here on Wednesday against the order of higher-ups assigning extra duty in connection with Muharram processions.

They demonstrated for a few hours and also marched from a hospital towards the office of the District Health Authority, throwing traffic out of gear. They demanded that the CEO withdraw the decision.

Six of the LHWs reportedly fainted owing to scorching heat and mugginess.

BAR ROOM: Lady lawyers are playing a pivotal role in establishing supremacy of law and striving for safeguarding the rights of the oppressed.

This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Asia Gull at the inauguration of the new bar room for lady lawyers in District Courts.

“Time has changed and now women cannot be confined to the boundary walls. Law provides protection to the working women,” she said and called upon the lady lawyers to ensure free legal aid to women victims of oppression and ensure justice for them.

The new Bar has been constructed for accommodating 250 women lawyers. The district government has provided space and more than Rs1 million.
