MARDAN: Two persons were burnt to death and two others suffered injuries when fire erupted due to gas leak in a room of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House as one of the victims struck a match for lighting a cigarette here on Thursday.

The rescue and relevant city police station officials confirmed that the fire erupted in one of the rooms due to gas leakage.

They said that all the four persons received critical burn injuries and two of them identified as Abbas and Salman died on way to hospital.

The other two injured, identified as Usman and Junaid, were taken to the Mardan Medical Complex in precarious condition.

The hospital sources have declared condition of the two as precarious.
