MULTAN: A fire broke out at the regional office of the National Accountability Bureau here on Saturday.
NAB Multan spokesman Qaisar Mehmood said the fire erupted owing to a short circuit in control panel installed outside the main office.
He said teams of Rescue 1122 and Multan Electric Power Company were called, the fire was controlled “and everything in the office is safe.”
Sources said the rescue staff was not allowed to take the pictures and make videos of the incident which they usually do.
They said the Multan director general used to leave the city on every weekend ‘without getting permission from the NAB chairman’ and he was not here when the fire broke out.
They claimed that the intensity of the fire was being concealed as the fire erupted near the main record room of the Multan office where files of mega scandals including record of Multan Metro Bus Project was kept.
