QUETTA: Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Pakistan is going through an evolution process of its journey towards enduring peace and stability with a positive trajectory.

He was speaking to students of Balochistan from various educational institutions after inaugurating the newly established NUST Campus along with Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan here on Friday. In 2017, the army chief had announced the plan to set up the campus, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations.

In the first badge, a total of 550 students will study BE in Civil Engineering and Computer Sciences and MS in Water Resource Engineering Management, Tunneling/Mining Engineering and Computer & Allied Sciences programmes.

The army chief appreciated the talented youth of Balochistan and urged the students to enable themselves for the forthcoming opportunities in different fields.

He said Pakistan was going through an evolution process of its journey towards enduring peace and stability with a positive trajectory. He added that the youth of the country would have to keep on working in the right direction with national cohesion to achieve individual and collective excellence. He emphasised the need for a synergised approach from all segments of society to confront future challenges.

Gen Bajwa also visited the headquarters of Southern Command, where he was informed about progress on projects being undertaken as part of the Khushal Balochistan Programme.

He appreciated the efforts of the army and other law enforcement agencies for maintaining law and order in the province to facilitate completion of projects.
