LAHORE: Pakistan earned a fabulous victory when it defeated Indonesia - the 4th ranked team in the last Asian Games 2018 - with a score of three to two (3-2) in the 20th Asian Senior Men Volleyball Championship on Saturday, according to information released by the Pakistan Volleyball Federation.

Pakistan won with scores of 25-20, 25-23, 19-25, 20-25, 15-13. “The Government of Indonesia made huge investment in the game of Volleyball and provided all facilities to the Volleyball athletes, but today’s result must be a shocking for Indonesian players as well as its fans,” the PVF states.

“Pakistan played an outstanding game in all departments of serves, attack, defence and blocking. The captain of the team Aimal Khan played a leading role and led from the front. He made very effective and powerful attack. He was equally assisted by Murad Khan and Mubashar Raza. Nasir Ali came out very well in reception and he was helped in this department by Murad Khan and Mubashar Raza,too,” it further said.

Pakistan will play Kuwait on Sunday. Indonesia had defeated Kuwait. Pakistan had lost to South Korea 3-0.

Sunday’s match will determine Pakistan’s position as in case of win against Kuwait, it will move to top eight teams.
