LAHORE: The Lahore Arts Council officials called on ailing stage comedian Amanullah Khan at his residence on Wednesday and inquired after him.

Led by Alhamra Arts Council Executive Director Ather Ali Khan, the LAC officials presented Mr Khan a bouquet and wished him early recovery.

According to a handout, the comedian is undergoing treatment at his residence.

Recognising the services of Amaanullah, the executive director said there was no doubt that the comedian had no match in the field. He said Amanullah through his unique style made his name worldover.

PAINTING CONTEST: A painting competition on Kashmir opened here on Wednesday at the Alhamra Arts Centre, The Mall.

The competition is organised by the Lahore Arts Council to highlight the Kashmiris struggle for freedom.

More than 80 painters are participating in the competition to show solidarity with the Kashmiris who are being persecuted by India.

LAC Executive Director Ather Ali Khan said not only the arts council but, entire nation was standing with the people of Kashmir.

“We salute the Kashmiri people for their fight against brutal Indian armed forces,” he said.
