KARACHI: Habib Girls School put up a fantastic show to overcome Shahwalayat School 2-0 in the first semi-final while DA Phase 4 outplayed Karachi Grammar School 2-0 in the second semi-final to enter the final of the juniors category in the 10th Culligan Girls Throwball Tournament here at the City School PAF Chapter’s campus on Friday.

In the third position match, Karachi Grammar School beat Shahwalayat School 2-0.

Zubir Ahmed, Chairman Sindh Throwball Association, was the chief guest in sub junior semifinals. The tournament has been organised by Sindh Throwball Association from Sept 17-21 and as many as 106 teams are competing.

In the sub-juniors (class 4-6) category semifinals, The City School PAF Chapter beat Fatimiyha School 2-0 while Aga Khan Garden beat Daps Sea View, 2-0. In the third position match, Daps Sea View beat Fatimiyha School 2-1. The final will be played on Saturday between City School PAF Chapter and Aga Khan School.

In the O Level & Matric Level quarter-finals, The City DK Campus beat Habib Girls School 2-0 while Wajha Hussain beat Beconhouse Johor 2-0, The City School PAF beat Beconhouse Defense 2-0 and DA Phase 4 beat Haque Academy 2-0. The semifinals, third position match and the final will be played on Saturday.

In the A-level category quarter-finals, Nixor College beat Habib Girls School 2-0, Aga Khan HS School beat Beaconhouse BCCP 2-0, Cedar College beat Alpha College 2-0, The City School DK Campus beat Lyceum College 2-0.Later in the semis, Cedar College beat Nixor College 2-0 while The City School DK Camps beat Aga Khan HS 2-0;

The University Level & Open category semifinals will be played on Saturday. Cedar College (night) will clash with Habib University while GU Falcon will meet Iqra University. The third position match and the final will also be played on Saturday.
