KOHAT: Six people, including a woman, were killed and five others injured when an armed group attacked a passenger coach near Zargari area of Hangu district on Saturday.

District police officer Ehsanullah Khan said that an old enmity had been going on between the families of Jan Akbar and Momin Shah for several years. He said Momin Shah group got a tip-off that a passenger coach was carrying family of Jan Akbar from Hangu to Shasham Din Banda. When the vehicle reached Zargari, the assailants opened indiscriminate fire at it. As a result, Habibullah Khan, brother of Jan Akbar, Badshah Khan, Asmatullah, Shah Momin Shah, Sharifa Bibi and Syal Gul, were killed on the spot, and five others were injured.

DPO Ehsanullah Khan said the bodies and the injured were taken to the district headquarters hospital. He further said that postmortem of the deceased was underway and the injured had been admitted to the hospital.

The DPO said that FIR had been registered against the rival group which attacked the vehicle. He said the police were conducting raids for arrest of the culprits in different areas.
