CHINIOT: The district police have arrested 16 drug peddlers including a woman and recovered 16 kilogram charas from their possession.

District Police Officer Syed Hasnain Haider initiated a move to make Chiniot a drug-free district and constituted nine teams under the supervision of sub divisional police officers of the three circles. The teams started surveillance at the entry and exit points of the district and arrested 16 drug peddlers with 16kg charas, hundreds of litres of liquor and weapons.

The DPO lauded the team for tracking down the drug peddlers and directed them to continue raids. A helpline 0340-1515000 has been working round the clock to receive information about drugs and other crimes.
