LAHORE: The investigation police claimed to have arrested a couple over allegations of rape of a woman, recording videos and extortion through the recordings.

A case was registered against the couple at Sundar police station on Friday on the complaint of a woman, who alleged that the man raped her while his wife recorded videos and took photos. She further claimed in the first information report that the couple blackmailed her and demanded money in exchange for disposing of the videos and pictures.

The Sadar division investigation superintendent of police (SP) claimed the incident occurred six months back and the woman filed her complaint just recently. He said the suspects confessed to their crime of raping and blackmailing the woman during initial investigation.

The suspects were charged under sections 376 (offense of rape) and 509 (word, gesture or act to insult a woman’s modesty) of the PPC.

To a question, the SP said apparently there was no evidence of victimisation of other women, but police were investigating the matter.
