HARIPUR: An electrician of the Telecom Staff College (TSC) Haripur received burns while fixing a fault in a power transformer here on Sunday.

Official sources at the TSC and witnesses said that Naveed Akhtar, 25, had been working as a daily wager for last about two years. They said despite finishing his duty on Saturday night his seniors asked him to continue till 12 noon of Sunday due to staff shortage.

On Sunday morning, Naveed was asked by his seniors to remove a fault in one of the transformers of the T&T Colony. While removing the fault, he got an electric shock and fell on the ground.

The TSC security staff shifted him to a private hospital wherefrom he was referred to PIMS Islamabad as his condition was fast deteriorating.
