Cedar College lift A-Levels football title at PSSO Games

KARACHI: Cedar College outplayed Nixor College 3-0 in the A-Levels football event final at the Aga Khan Gymkhana held under the auspices of the Pakistan School Sports Olympics (PSSO) Karachi School-College Games here on Thursday.

In the under-17 football event, City School Darakhshan edged past City School PAF Chapter 5-4 in the penalty shootout while the under-15 event was won by City School PAF who beat Reflection School 2-0 at the IBA football ground.

Cedar College boys displayed breathtaking football and proved superior to their opponents Nixor College who failed to put up much resistance in the A-levels event final.

Siddique Sheikh, Head Coach Pakistan football team, was the chief guest on the occasion while assistant coach Tariq Balochwas the guest of honour. They distributed the prizes, trophies and shields among the winners and runner-up teams teams and officials.

The under-17 category final was a very exciting contest, played at the IBA ground in the eveninig, as both teams put in superb game but could not get past each other’s defences and the match was tied at 0-0 in the regular time. Later in the penalty shootout, City School Darakhshan proved to be the better side as they scored on all five of their chances while the City School PAF Chapter missed on of their opportunities to finish with four goals and the runner-up title.

In the under-15 final, City School PAF Chapter emerged clear winners over Reflection School by 2-0 at the IBA ground.

Khurram Arif Rizvi, Senior Director Sports KDA, was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the prizes among the teams and the players. Also present were president PSSO Gohar Raza and organising secretary Muhammad Riaz.
