Alpha, Nixor, HPS bag basketball titles

KARACHI: Nixor College girls basketball team, the winners of the PSSO U-19 final, are seen with chief guest Gohar Raza and other officials at the City School PAF Chapter campus.

KARACHI: Alpha College beat Nixor College in the final to win the U-19 boys basketball title while to Nixor College cruised past Cedar College in the under-19 girls basketball final and Habib Public School outplayed Reflection School in the under-17 boys final to bag the crown at the Pakistan School Sports Olympics School -College Games being played at the The City School PAF Chapter basketball courts on Friday.

The under girls final was a well fought contest but in the end, Nixor College girls proved superior by displaying brilliant game to emerge winners by 19-11 against Cedar College who displayed fine game too. Amna Ahmed from Nixor College was awarded Best Player by Naila Durrani who was the chief guest in the final.In the boys under-19 final, Alpha College and Nixor College went neck and neck to enthrall the fans. however, in the end the closely fought battle was won by Alpha college 25-21. Furqan Patel of Alpha was declared the Best Player by chief guest Gohar Raza Zaidi, Director Sports of IBA and President of Pakistan Sports School Games.

In the boys under-17 clash Habib Public School secured the title by winning a lop-sided final 57-11 against Reflection School. Ibad Ali of HPS was awarded Best Player by M Kashan, Director of Alpha College who the chief guest on the occasion.
