ABBOTTABAD: Robbery incidents are on the rise in Abbottabad district.

Two such cases were reported in the posh locality of Jinnahabad and Mandian, while a panic-like situation was created in Kunj-Kehal late on Saturday night when indiscriminate firing started in the area.

Sources said that in the first incident two armed robbers entered a mobile shop on main Mandian road late on Wednesday night and looted Rs2,000,000 cash and escaped. The incident occurred in Mirpur police station limits. Online FIR has been registered.

The second incident was reported in the house of lawyer Atif Khan Jadoon on Saturday morning as per FIR dated 12/10/2019 registered in Mirpur police station. It was stated that two to three unidentified robbers entered the house of Mr Jadoon in Street 2, Jinnahabad, and after taking hostage all the female family members looted jewellery items and cash besides taking away some documents from the cupboards.

In the third case, following a talk about presence of some dacoits in Kunj-Kehal area, some of the residents started indiscriminate firing in the air.

CM CRITICISED: Sardar Aurangzeb Nalotha, parliamentary leader of PML-N in KP Assembly, has criticised Chief Minister Mahmood Khan for using helicopter like a van for his recent trip to Havelian and Abbottabad to attend functions at the Abbottabad University of Science and Technology and the local press club.

He said that the CM flew to Abbottabad university from Peshawar and then for Abbottabad where he landed in the hockey stadium. He said that the CM then moved to the house of KP Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani for a lunch.

The PML-N leader claimed that it was just a pleasure trip of the CM as he did not announce any project for Havelian.
