LAHORE: The PML-N lawyers wing vice president was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified persons from Thokar Niaz Baig on Sunday.

Kashif Ali Chaudhry was visiting a Sarshar Town market to purchase cable wire when unidentified persons on two vehicles came there and stopped him, according to a complaint lodged by his brother Nazim Hussain at the Hanjarwal police station.

It further states that the suspects overpowered Advocate Chaudhry and bundled him into a vehicle and fled away.

Police received the complaint for registration of a case and early recovery of the lawyer and started investigation.

However, a CCTV footage circulating on social media showed that masked men in civvies were holding Mr Chaudhry and later shifting him to a vehicle. Reports suggested that Mr Chaudhry had chanted slogans against institutions during former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s hearing in accountability court three days ago.

A source said a DSP-rank officer was inquiring into the incident.
