ISLAMABAD: The 33rd National Games torch arrived in Rawalpindi on Monday.
Islamabad Olympic Association secretary Rana Sarwar and Pakistan Sports Board deputy director general Azam Dar and others received the torch here at Rawalpindi Railways Station.
After a gap of around eight years, the National Games are set to be held in Peshawar from Oct 26 to Nov 1.
The National Games torch relay had started from the Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi on Oct 6, it then travelled to Quetta and Lahore before arriving in Rawalpindi.
On Tuesday, the torch reaches Islamabad where it would be received by Pakistan Air Force, then Navy and Army. A grand function in this regard is set to be organised at the Pakistan Sports Complex in the capital city on Tuesday.
