MURREE: Two years after gas pipelines began to be laid in Darya Gali union council, the concerned department has failed to provide a single connection in the area.

With winter round the corner, the department has still not started providing locals gas facilities.

Former Darya Gali union council vice chairman Danish Yamin Abbasi said the situation shows the department’s negligence as well as incompetence of local elected representatives.

Locals, such as Javed Abbasi, Saeed Abbasi, Tahir Abbasi and Mohsin Abbasi, said if connections are not provided before winter starts, a protest will be held against the department.

Sui Northern Gas Murree in-charge Abdul Moeed told Dawn that work on the pipelines was completed in July and a request for approval has already been sent to the SNGPL headquarters in Lahore.

After approval, demand notices will be issued to locals and meter installation and the provision of connections will begin, he said.
