The act of the university was passed last year. The NSU will be set up at the building of National Institute of Science and Technical Education (NISTE) in sector H-8.

“The NISTE is being converted into first ever proper National Skill University,” said an official of the education ministry.

He said the university was first ever skill university, which will likely offer various technical programmes that include building technology and environment, elector technology, mechanical and automotive technology, industries and business, computing and information technology, management and communication studies, basic sciences and humanities and teachers education.

According to NSU Bill, the university will establish its campuses to be determined by its senate.
