SUKKUR: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Shah underwent a thorough medical check-up at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) here on Friday by a team of doctors, who diagnosed that his three arteries were clogged, according to reports aired by several TV channels.

Quoting NICVD sources, the reports suggested that Mr Shah underwent an angiography procedure, adding that high blood pressure might have caused clogging of the cardiac arteries.

They said the doctors were optimistic about an improvement in the next few days through medication. But he would have to undergo the angioplasty procedure if medication did not give desirable results, they said.

The sources said that the medical reports of Mr Shah’s problem and treatment were delivered to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Sukkur, for onward submission in the accountability court concerned on Monday.

Khursheed Shah, currently in NAB custody for an investigation into a mega corruption case, has been under treatment at the NICVD since Oct 27.
