31 Pakistani migrants found in lorry in France

NICE: More than 30 migrants from Pakistan were found hidden in a lorry in southern France, prosecutors said on Saturday.
They said the driver, who was also from Pakistan, was detained.
The discovery came after 39 people were found dead in a refrigerated truck in Britain last month, once again laying bare the risks faced by migrants en route to Europe.
The group of 31 Pakistani migrants was discovered during a routine check on a motorway near the Italian border on Friday, French prosecutors said. The migrants, who included three teenagers, were handed over to the Italian authorities in accordance with immigration procedures.
“We will try and establish if we can trace it back to a network and backers as we always do in this type of case,” the prosecutors’ office in the southeastern city of Nice said.

Most of the Pakistanis do hard labour work in Paris. Many a times exploited by Pakistani shop keepers and other businesses.
They spend more than half of life in this misery, while the worker works hard with insufficient food their relatives in Pakistan have latest phones and stuff. Total waste of efforts and disrespect for the worker.

Why do people risk their lives to go illegally to other countries, particularly in the West? Two factors seem to work here: the inability of our successive governments to provide livelihood to people at home and excessive ambition of some, to improve their lot in life through the short cut of migration to established economies. Both these are nit easy to solve.

@Taj, What do you think the govt. has a Magic Wand works in hand? Are we not responsible too? The govt. like any other institutions runs with money in hand and we do not have that. Govts. Effort for taxing each and every individual is facing strikes. Are we mature enough to understand our responsibilities? And then in less than one and a half years, given where our financial was standing it is very difficult to fix the corruption infested fiasco we inherited.
Pakistanis were leaving the country twenty years ago and they are leaving now too.

Ask anyone living in Europe what the condition of illegal migrants is, and they will tell you it is just not worth it. Unless you fleeing war with your family and children, illegally crossing into Europe hardly ever yields any riches. It is a life of danger, violence and extreme poverty. To any young Pakistanis thinking of such desperate moves, please reconsider because the reality is far worse then you can imagine.
