QUETTA: Balochistan’s Chief Secretary retired Capt Fazeel Asghar said on Tuesday that the provincial government was using all available resources to boost the livestock sector as the province had good prospects for the sector’s growth.

The chief secretary expressed these views while reviewing preparations for the Balochistan Livestock Expo 2019. He said that the livestock sector was the backbone of the province and its development would have positive impact on its economy.

The Balochistan government is organising a Livestock Expo for the first time in the province this month and has invited various foreign companies to participate in the event. The expo will also see the launch of a special awareness campaign on the breeding of a variety of animals.

Boy’s murder

Home Minister Mir Zia Langove on Tuesday ordered officials of all law-enforcement agencies to immediately arrest culprits involved in the murder of a boy who had been kidnapped for ransom.

He directed officials concerned to take prompt action against elements involved in the kidnapping, using all available resources.

Mr Langove said that a concrete strategy should be formulated to prevent such incidents in future.

He offered deep condolences to the family of the murdered young man, saying the government would provide immediate justice to the affected family by bringing his killers to justice. He claimed that the law and order situation in the province had improved greatly in comparison to past.
