KARACHI: Three matches were played on the opening day of Commiss­ioner Karachi SSB Cup Girls Basketball tournament being organised by Firdaus Ittehad in collaboration with Karachi Basketball Association at Karachi Gymkhana.

In the opening match, Beaconhouse Juahar Campus beat KMA College Senior 26-23 in a one-sided contest.

Scorers for the winners were Bisma 14 points, Wajiha 8 points and Alishba 4 points.

In second match of the day, Beaconhouse PECHS beat KMA Junior 24-21.

Scorers for the winners in this low scoring contest were Hareem 10 points while Sara and Iman scored 6 points each.

In third match, Bahria school beat City School PAF Chapter 30-26 in yet another one-sided contest.

For the winners side, Anosha scored 16 points while Aimen scored 7 points.

Earlier players of all teams were introduced to PPP women leader Ayesha Soomro who was the chief guest on the occasion.

National hockey player Abida Moosani and KBBA president Ghulam Muhammad Khan were also present on the occasion.
