FAISALABAD: PPP Central Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira says cases have been registered against former President Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur merely on assumptions.

Addressing a press conference flanked by other party leaders here on Monday, he said Mr Zardari had no intention of leaving the country and the government was not allowing his doctors to see him. He reiterated that the PPP leader should be shifted to Sindh for being seriously ill.

“Only Zardari and his sister are in jail,” he added, referring to other opposition parties leaders who were out of jail now.

Mr Kaira lamented that Mr Zardari had been kept in isolation and no facility was being extended to him despite the court orders. He said the days of Prime Minister Imran Khan had been numbered and at first provincial governments would be sent packing.

He said Pakistan and Mr Khan could not go together and he had to go if we want to save Pakistan. Besides, he added, the people in the government were accepting their failures.

Mr Kaira said only two political parties were being subjected to accountability and corruption of the government partners had been ignored.
