KOHAT: A special police investigation team has recovered a child kidnapped 12 days ago from posh KDA Township here and arrested three abductors.

District police officer Wahid Mehmood told a press conference on Wednesday that Shah Fahad, 7, was abducted while playing football in sector-I of the KDA Town on Nov 14. His uncle Abdur Rehman had registered a case in the KDA police station without nominating anybody. The family belonged to Thall tehsil of Hangu district.

He said a team headed by SP operations Tahir Iqbal was constituted, which traced one of the kidnappers, Raees Khan, from Naway Kalay area, who disclosed the names of his two accomplices, who had been changing locations in the province, DPO Mehmood said.

The team arrested the two kidnappers, Vaqas and Naeem Gul, while coming to Kohat from Peshawar in public transport, and recovered the child, he added.

The police officer said the kidnappers and the child’s family were relatives and the child had been kidnapped over an enmity.

THREE OUTLETS SEALED: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority sealed three outlets for selling adulterated milk on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the district administration fined 32 shopkeepers for selling low quality food items.

The food authority and the livestock department officials checked 18 milk outlets in the main bazaar, Miangan colony, mills colony and shops on Bannu Road, and sealed three shops for selling adulterated milk. More than 180 litres of milk was also disposed of.

The samples from other shops were sent to laboratory for checking.

Meanwhile, the assistant commissioner visited the Sasta bazaar, Jail Road and Mustafa Bazaar, and fined 12 shopkeepers for selling low quality items.
