DERA GHAZI KHAN: Civil Lines police on Thursday arrested a youth from Islamabad on charges of blackmailing girls through fake social media accounts.

Station House Officer Iftikhar Malkani said the suspect, Syed Shehzad, used to befriend girls through fake accounts, get them on calls on pretext of relationships and record their videos in an objectionable state. He would later blackmail girls by using the recorded clips.

The suspect was traced in Islamabad through his call data record. Police have seized mobile phones, ATM cards and more than one passport from Shehzad.
