KARACHI: The fourth Sindh Sports Board Wheelchair coaching camp commences from Saturday here at the Union Club.The Sindh Tennis Association (STA) in collaboration with Para Sports Pakistan is organising the camp.

The three-month long camp sessions will be held every Sunday for three hours, from 10:00am to 1:00pm. It is pertinent to mention that the Pakistan Tennis Federation has donated four tennis wheelchairs to STA while Chief of Joint Staff also announced six wheelchairs for PTF which are expected to be delivered to the tennis federation soon.

Moreover, Para Sports Pakistan will manufacture tennis wheelchairs locally to accommodate more players in camps. The work on this has already started.

On Saturday, the organisers will select 8 to 10 wheelchair tennis players for the camp.All wheelchair players and wheelchair-related organisations of Karachi are invited to send deserving players for trials at 10:00am.

The selection committee comprises PTF vice-president (wheelchair) Mohammad Khalid Rehmani,

Para Sports Pakistan secretary Dr Nadia Razzaq, its vice-president Ishrat Zehra and coach Aqeel Shabbir. The players selected will be entitled to conveyance allowance.

At the conclusion of the camp a tournament for wheelchair tennis players will be held and certificates will be awarded among the participants.
