The representatives from four provinces and armed forces, including Maj Gen Shehla M Baqai, Maj Mazhar Ishaq and Maj Gen Farrukh Saeed, also participated, besides heads of medical institutions, fellows of the CPSP and members of faculties.

Addressing the convocation, the CPSP president shared national and international achievements of the college. He said the CPSP had become the insignia of international recognition and integrity of the country.

“It is matter of pride for me being president of the CPSP that presently more than 24,000 fellows and 10,000 members of the college are serving the ailing humanity across the country and abroad,” Mr Chaudhry said.

He said around 24,000 under-training doctors would fill the demand-supply gap in the medical profession in the near future.

The CPSP was sending its trainees to Ireland and the UK for world class training and exposure for a specific period of time for the last five years.

“These trainees will surely serve the nation on their return to the country”, the CPSP president said.

On the occasion, CPSP Senior Vice President Prof Khalid Masood administered oath to the new fellows and members and expressed hope that they would spend their lives serving the humanity as per their oath.

He said 556 doctors were awarded fellowships and four others were given membership in the Health Professions Education.

Chief guest Prof Khwaja Sadiq Hussain lauded the services and achievements of the college at national and international levels and declared it an exemplary institution.

About the ethics of the profession, he asked the new specialist doctors to serve the ailing humanity as it was their foremost responsibility.

Later, Mr Hussain awarded gold medals to four toppers and membership in Health Professions Education.
