HARIPUR: Six medical stores were sealed over the violation of drug rules here on Thursday.

The action was taken by drug inspector Syed Aqib Shah during a surprise visit to the stores in Ghazi tehsil here in line with the instructions of the officials of the provincial drug regulatory authority.

During the examination of records, the drug inspector found the owners of medical stores to be unlicensed.

He also found that the medical stores also offered treatment to visitors though they didn’t have qualified doctors.

SHO of the Ghazi police station and officials of the Health Care Commission accompanied the drug inspector.

Meanwhile, the police launched e-challan system here on Thursday.

District police officer Dr Zahidullah Jan told reporters here that the initiative was meant for bringing transparency to the traffic challan system through modern gadgets and save the time of motorists.

He said all 22 ticketing officers had got mobile sets and printers for on-the-spot issuance of e-challans to the violators of traffic rules in the district.

The DPO said those officers were trained by IT experts of the department.

He said the drive to make bike riders wear helmet had caused the rate of fatal road accidents to decline in the last one month.
