PARACHINAR: A team of forensic experts exhumed the body of a minor girl who was raped and murdered in Kurram tribal district in November, and collected DNA samples, police said here on Friday.

They said that forensic experts from Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar arrived in Parachinar on Thursday and exhumed her body in Ghundikhel area of Pewar.

Civil judge Mohammad Asghar and police were also present on the occasion.

Experts collected DNA samples from the body, which were being sent to Lahore, said an official. The body of the girl, 5, was found near a pond on Nov 13. The medico-legal findings confirmed that the minor girl was raped before being murdered.

The local police have arrested several people in light of the medico-legal report.
