SIALKOT: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday hit out at the PML-N leaders who held a meeting in London for deliberations on key political issues.

“Efforts by the PML-N leaders to conceal their corruption will end up in smoke very soon. All the party leaders wanted by courts of law are trying their best to save the wealth they plundered out of the national exchequer,” she told journalists.

“The meetings in London will end soon as they have no agenda for the welfare of the people of Pakistan,” she said, reiterating that these politicians had gathered in London to find out ways to save the plundered wealth.

“They are deceiving the masses by making up stories about their assets by taking advantage of the illness of their leader,” she said.

The wrong economic policies of the previous government, she said, had pushed the country into a massive foreign debt. They also ruined the economy, she said, adding that the people had been suffering hardships because of economic policies of the PML-N government.

She said it was a point of grave concern for every patriotic Pakistani that political elements wanted by courts were busy giving wrong statements. She said courts were calling them back to Pakistan.

Dr Awan said that plunderers of national wealth must give answers to the questions about how they acquired “massive wealth”.

She also took to Twitter and said that the entire PML-N had set up camp with “the absconders”.

“It is the right of every prisoner to seek medical treatment. In the same way, it is the right of the law to prosecute those found guilty of violating it,” she said.

A group of PML-N leaders held a meeting in London on Saturday with party president Shahbaz Sharif to discuss the role in various parliamentary matters, including the pending legislation on the army chief’s tenure and the suspended appointments of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
