Hyderabad meet Balochistan in Inter-board throwball final today

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Board beat Peshawar Board 2-0 while Balochistan Board outplayed Larkana Board 2-0 to qualify for the final of All-Pakistan Inter-Board Throwball Boys Championship here on Monday.

In the third-position match, Peshawar Board beat Larkana Board 2-0. The final of the tournament, to be played between Balochistan Board and Hyderabad Board will be held on Tuesday at 11.30am.

Ramzan Jamali, Director BISE Larkana Board and member of Pakistan Boards Committee, who was the chief guest at the semi-finals lauded the event.

“Throwball is a very popular sport in education sector and it is keeping the students engaged in healthy activities. Recently, it was great to see throwball being included in the 33rd National Games and now for the first time the All-Pakistan Inter Board also includes throwball while Pakistan Inter-university Games will also see the sport on its schedule,” he said.

Meanwhile, lady officer Hyderabad Board Ms Shahid, who is also the organising secretary of the inter-board event, announced the date of All Pakistan Girls Inter-board Throwball Championship 2019 which will be played at Board Stadium, Hyderabad from Dec 19-21.

Earlier, on the opening day, Hyderabad Board beat Larkana board 2-0 while Baluchistan board beat Peshawar board 2-0 and Larkana board also outplayed Mirpurkhas board 2-0.

Masroor Zai, Controller BISE Hyderabad, was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. Teams from BISE Quett, Peshawar, Bannu, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana and Swat are taking part in the championship.
