KARACHI: Karachi Basketball Club (KBBC) beat Usman Club 59-49 in the final to win the title of Shukria Jinnah Basketball tournament organized by Pakistan Rangers here at Abdul Nasir courts at Arambagh on Tuesday night.

Top scorers for the victorious side was Zainul Abedeen (24 points) while Daniyal and Raj Kumar scored (16 points) each.

For the runners up, Shariq Suleman (28 points) while Faizan and Hamza scored (10 points) each.

Shariq Suleman was declared best player of the final while Daniyal was named best player of the tournament.

Later, Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Sector Commander Col Parvaiz Iqbal, who was the chief guest on the occasion, gave away prizes and trophies to the players.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the objective of the event was to pay homage to the Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and highlight his struggle for the creation of Pakistan. Later, the Rangers officials distributed gifts and cash prizes among the players as well as technical officials.

He advised the youngsters to also give ample attention to sports along with studies as sports are essential for mental and physical growth.

Commander Col Sajid Sharif Malik, Maj. Amir Haider besides sports officials were also present.
