CHARSADDA: Awami National Party provincial president Aimal Wali Khan has said that former military ruler Gen retired Pervez Musharraf had violated constitution, so he deserved exemplary punishment.

In a statement issued from Wali Bagh here on Friday, he said that Gen Musharraf had declared constitution a piece of paper on many occasions. He said that former military regime had no regard for the constitution and law.

“Gen retired Musharraf blatantly stated that constitution was only a piece of paper and he can put it in trash bin,” said Aimal Wali. He said that Musharraf’s statements against the constitution had gone viral on social media.

He said that Gen Musharraf should be given exemplary punishment that no general could dare abrogate the constitution in future. He said that judiciary was being openly criticised on media to protect a single person. He said that Gen Musharraf had never denied that he did not violate the constitution.

Aimal Wali said that innocent people were killed in broad daylight in Karachi on May 12, 2007, and affected families were still waiting for justice. He said that people were demanding restoration of judiciary and constitution when they were sprayed with bullets.
