MINGORA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s secretary general Ahsan Iqbal said on Sunday that while in office the PML-N had put the nation on track to development and it was making the country what Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah wanted the motherland to be.

Addressing a party workers’ convention in Khwaza Khela in Swat, he said the PML-N brought over $280 million to the country through the CPEC and $600m more was in the pipeline.

“We put the country on the track to development and that is why we are being punished, harassed and threatened by different tactics,” he said.

“Pakistan was divided into two parts as the people of East Pakistan were not given their rights. Unfortunately we are not learning any lesson from history,” he regretted.

PTI govt slammed for growing inflation

Mr Iqbal severely criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government for its performance towards improving economy, saying now that Imran Khan is in power why Pakistan was not making progress.

Earlier, PML-N provincial president Amir Muqam also condemned the PTI government. He said that incompetent rulers had brought the country on the brink of disaster, adding that Imran Khan was the only prime minister and leader who only spoke lies to the nation and he was taking U-turns on all issues he talked about in the past.

“This PTI government comprises immature and ineligible people whose members do not know even the ABC of ruling a country,” he said.

“The fake and selected government has failed to address public issues and it has only unleashed the storm of inflation. Today, prices of every commodity have gone up and poor people of the country are unable to afford even two times’ meal,” he said.

“Due to wrong policies of Imran Khan our friends [in foreign governments] have been alienated and they are annoyed,” he said.

The PML-N leader said that future belongs to PML-N which would steer the country out of the quagmire of issues.

“The PML-N will once again put the country on the track of true development and prosperity,” he said.
