TAXILA: A masked man killed two women and critically injured another in Ghora Maar jungle in Attock Saddar police station area on Monday.

Police and Rescue 1122 sources said the women, Nazakat Bibi, 35, Khanam 45, and her daughter Shahnaz Bibi, 23, were collecting dried wood in the jungle when a masked man attacked them with an axe, killing Nazakat Bibi and Khanam on the spot and injuring Shahnaz, who was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital, Attock, in critical condition.

In her statement, the injured woman said she could not identify the attacker as he was wearing a mask.

Police investigators ruled out any enmity and handed over the bodies to the families after autopsy.

The police have registered a murder case against the attacker and started investigation.
