KARACHI: The second historic Commissioner Karachi City Marathon race in Karachi will be organised on Jan 12 next year and a huge number of Karachiites, national and international celebrities and prominent personalities will participate in it.

This was stated by Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani here on Tuesday during his meeting with a delegation of officials and sponsors at his office.

“Karachi has always been the city of great people who love sports and healthy activities and are very peaceful and I am very confident that the citizens will participate whole-heartedly in the Marathon,” said the Commissioner. “Inshallah the success of the marathon will prove that peace and harmony is the main spirit of the people here and how they have defeated all negative forces to emerge as winners.”

The delegation comprised Pakistan Tennis Federation VP Khalid Jameel Shamsie,Inverex CEO Mohammad Zakir, Karachi Basketball Association president Ghulam Mohammad, Pepsicola’s Mohammad Ikhlaq and Deputy Director Information KMC Korangi Mohammad Arshad.

The delegates assured Commissioner Karachi of their full support and cooperation for the historic marathon race and also vowed to motivate people from all walks of life to participate in great numbers in the event.
