RAWALPINDI: An exhibition of rare photographs on the life of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah titled Quaid-i-Azam ke Shab o Roz was organised by the Punjab Council of the Arts Rawalpindi (PUCAR) to mark his birth anniversary.

Qamar Jahan Foundation Chairman Dr Jamal Nasir flanked by PUCAR Director Waqar Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition.

More than 100 rare photographs of Jinnah, Allama Mohammad Iqbal, Liaquat Ali Khan and other leaders were displayed at the art gallery.

Some of the pictures showed Jinnah during meetings with foreigners, colonial rulers as well as Hindu and Sikh leaders of the subcontinent.

“We came to know the struggle of a great leader. The Quaid’s words, ‘Faith, Unity and Discipline’, are visible through his pictures,” said Mohammad Akram, a student at the exhibition.

In some pictures, the role of Jinnah’s sister Fatima Jinnah was highlighted.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jamal praised the PUCAR for organising the exhibition to highlight the spirit of patriotism.

While talking about Jinnah’s struggle for the creation of Pakistan, he said that his hard work was an example for the young generation who should follow his footsteps for prosperity of the country.

Mr Ahmed said that the council always highlighted the role of founding fathers of the country so that the young generation would know their struggle. He added that the exhibition will continue till next week.

He said that events have been organised to celebrate Jinnah’s birth anniversary and students from both private and government schools will be participating.
