KARACHI: Nadir Bachani of Hyderabad and Eraj Batool of Iqra University emerged victorious in the men’s and ladies singles event respectively of 60th Sindh Sports Board Development Series Ranking Tennis Championship which concluded at the Union Club on Saturday.
Nadir was in fine form and outplayed his rival Mohammad Ali in straight sets to clinch the coveted title. As for Eraj, she also cruised past Natalia Zaman 8-2 to win the title in style.
In the uner-17 sinlges, Ghufran Faiz beat Abdul Samad Areejoto the bag the category title while in the under-11 category, Sameer Zaman defeated Ibrahim Qureshi easily to grab the title.
Imtiaz Ali Shah , Secretary Sports Govt of Sindh, was the chief guest who distributed trophies among the winners and runners up of various events. Secretary Sports appreciated the continous tennis activities of Sindh Tennis Association and announced that he is working towards organizing Chief Minister Games in the coming months.
Khalid Rehmani , Vice President PTF, thanked Secretary Sports for supporting tennis in Sindh and also announced to hold four national tournaments and one Sindh ranking event in the coming two months.
Ghulam Mohammad of KBBA, Asghar Baloch, Mahfoozul Haq and others also spoke at the closing ceremony.

Men’s singles (final): Nadir Bachani ( Hyderabad) beat Muhammad Ali (Army) 6-1, 6-1.
Ladies singles (final): Eraj Batool ( Iqra University) beat Natalia Zaman 8-2.
Under-11 singles (final): Sameer Zaman beat Ibrahim Qureshi 4-2, 4-1.
Under-9 singles (final): Zayed Zaman beat Ibrahim Saad 4-1, 4-1.
