LAHORE: On his last day in office, Lahore High Court outgoing Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan on Tuesday withdrew a notification regarding direct appointments in BS-17 and 18 made under discretionary powers three days ago apparently following a ‘backlash’ within the institution.

A notification issued by additional registrar (HR) said the chief justice had been pleased to recall direct appointments of Ammar Aziz, Hafiz Syed Fahad Iftikhar, Atif Gulzar as assistant registrar (BS-18) and Saifullah as admin officer (BS-17) earlier made on Dec 27.

The chief justice also withdrew another notification regarding change of nomenclature of the post of Sr. protocol officer (BS-20) as additional registrar (BS-20) and posting of Syed Sajjad Haider as such with effect from Dec 27.
