SWABI: The dispute resolution council has settled 1,419 disputes of different natures peacefully in 2019 in the district, according to officials.

They said that DRC had settled blood feuds and other numerous issues with the consent of the rival groups that helped them not only to secure the future of the young generation but also to avoid wastage of money and time.

Mohammad Rashid, the DCR spokesperson, told Dawn that total 1,652 applications were received by the council and 1,419 were amicably settled.

He said that people became familiar with DRC and whenever they faced complicated situation they went straight to its office and submitted application for solution to the issue.

“The DRC members discuss the issue with the rival parties and finally succeed to settle the dispute. The free services provided by DRC members to the people and society are unmatchable,” said Mr Rashid.

INJURED: Three people were injured when a car, a loader and an auto rickshaw collided with each other on Topi-Maini Road on Thursday, said police.

A woman belonging to Mani village was also among the injured.

They were immediately shifted to district headquarters hospital for treatment.

The doctors said that in one of the injured was in critical condition and shifted to Bacha Khan Hospital in Shahmansoor.

ARREST: Police claimed to have arrested three persons, who were involved in stealing motorcycles in different parts of the district.

Police had received reports about theft of motorcycles from different regions and FIRs had also been registered against unidentified persons.

Police said that they arrested Sajid Khan, who revealed the names of his two the accomplices Muslim Shah and Arshad Khan.

Police also recovered eight stolen motorcycles and several parts of various other motorbikes from their possession.

In the initial investigations, the arrested men told police that they also lifted motorbikes from Mardan, Ghazi and Nowshera.
